Workplace Stress Symptoms There are numerous symptoms of workplace stress, which can be categorized into four groups: Psychological symptoms, emotional symptoms, physical symptoms and behavioral symptoms (bupa). Firstly, in terms of psychological symptoms, the employees facing workplace stress when they have certain difficulties at work and they feel that they are unable to deal with them. They can also feel disappointed with themselves, or feel that they are lacking confidence. They find it difficult to be focused at work, or even lost their commitment and motivation for the work. Secondly, with regards to emotional symptoms, employees might experience depression and other negative feelings. They might have excessive emotional reactions, such as becoming too sensitive towards a normal issue or being tearful. They might also be easy to get annoyed and irritable. They might also feel overwhelmed at work and experience swings in mood. Thirdly, regarding physical symptoms, employees who get too stress ful are likely to suffer from pain such as joint pain, back pain, chest pain, shoulder pain, neck pain and headache. Some illness might be occurred like indigestion, constipation and diarrhea. Fourthly, when it comes to behavioral symptoms, the employees who suffer from stress might eat significantly less or more, sleeping too little or too much, isolating themselves from other people, including their co-workers, which denotes signs of social isolation. For example, the stress can be caused by the demand that employees need to meet unreasonable deadlines, demanding them to overwork or achieve unreasonable performance standards; or it might due to the fact that employees is doing the unsuitable jobs where they have insufficient skills, knowledge and experience to satisfy the job demands, thus, making them stressed. Secondly, control means when employees do not have a chance to raise their opinions and speak about their concerns, and their opinions are likel y to be neglected at work. This potentially makes employees feel disregard and experience irritation or depression, which are the symptoms of stress. Thirdly, support implies the situation where employees receive insufficient support at work, due to the companyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s lack of procedures set to resolve problems, or the lack of support from their co-workers and bosses; making employees exert excessive effort to think of ways to handle and deal with the problems themselves. Fourthly, relationships denote negative relationships that employees have at work, such as the appearance of too much competition between employees at the same level, harassment, bullying at work à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å" trying to cause problems to a particular employeeà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s performance and other types of conflicts between employees. Fifthly, role is about the level of understanding and certainties employees have towards the roles and responsibilities of the job. When the roles and responsi bilities are unclearly indicated, employees potentially feel lack of direction, uncertain and do not know how to perform. Sixthly, change is when employees are subject to excessive changes within a short amount of time. This change might come from the whole organizational change, or the change placed on employees by their co-workers or superior employees such as insecurity in jobs. Lastly, stress may occur due to the physical environment at the workplace. Good intentions from the government have caused many problems in the past few decades for the black community. The government has poured over one trillion dollars over numerous decades to relieve poverty and promote equality. At the end of it all it has been nothing but a complete failure for the black community. Government programs designed and implemented to help people have often locked black people into poverty. It all starts with the education that everyone receives. Primarily black public schools have been falling in quality for years now. Money is being spent less on the teachers and more on those that do not even step foot into the school. Furthermore black parents do not even get to have any control in the school system. Meanwhile private institutions are spending less money and they are also giving kids an exponentially better education. This proves how when businesses can operate for profit they will provide the best results for the customer. Government however has been not allowing black parents to have a choice to where they send their child. Trades were even, ounce for ounce an ounce of gold for an ounce of salt. Both sides north and south paid Ghana a tribute to handle the trades. Although Ghana never owned gold and salt mines, they controlled the trade between the kingdoms to the north and the kingdoms to the south. Ghana Gets Rich: With the arrival of camel trains, the caravans, the Kingdom of Ghana expanded their control to include trade with the foreigners. They traded gold for spices and other uxury goods as well as salt. The King of Ghana was a very wise man. He did three things that he felt would protect his people. #1: Tax: The first thing the king did was charge a tax (a tribute, a tariff) on all people entering and leaving Ghana. This tax was paid in salt, iron, peacock feathers, fine silk, spices, and other luxury goods. In exchange, Ghana warriors kept the trade routes open and protected from raiders. As long as the traders paid the tax, traders could pass in peace. It was the tax that made Ghana rich. | | #2: The System of Silent Barter: The king established a system of silent barter. Rather than meet and argue a price, gold would be left at a special place for the traders to take. If ample goods were not left in exchange, all trade ceased. The traders of Ghana did not speak the language of many of the new traders who crossed the Sahara via the Trans-Sahara Trade Routes. This system of silent barter worked very well. Traders were afraid to leave too little. They knew Ghana would stop trading. If anything, they left more than they normally would, to keep relations good and trade flowing. #3: A Second City:   The King of Ghana did not wish traders to enter his city on a routine basis or in an uncontrolled manner. To protect his people, he built a second city for the traders located about 6 miles from the main capital. The capital remained a city for the king and his people. The other, the new part of the city, was reserved for Moslem traders, merchants, and foreigners. This system worked very well. It allowed the people of Ghana to continue to worship in a way that was familiar and comfortable to them. It encouraged the traders to worship in their way, in the many mosques they built in the new city. The people of Ghana had a huge army. But they really didn’t want trouble. They wanted their life to continue as it always had, only more comfortably. The king wanted to conduct public prayer in the big open plazas of his city. The people in the villages wanted to hear the griots, the storytellers, telling the stories they loved so much about Anansi the Spider. All people, common and noble, wanted to dance at the festivals in the masks they   loved to make and wear, accompanied by the drums for which they were famous.
